Spectrum auction plans at last give mobile coverage targets for Nations
24 July 2012
Responding to today’s Ofcom announcement about its plans for the forthcoming spectrum auction, Panel Chair Bob Warner said:
“I am pleased that Ofcom has accepted the Panel’s recommendation for mobile coverage obligations for each of the nations. Rolling out mobile broadband to at least 98% of people will also ensure that people who have poor or non-existent mobile voice coverage will finally benefit too. Consumers in the UK have been waiting for some time for the benefits from 4G. We now call on Ofcom and the operators to deliver this without further delay.
