Commenting on Spring Online with Silver Surfers' Day 2011, Acting chair of the Communications Consumer Panel Bob Warner said:
“With new research from Digital Unite showing that four out of five internet users aged over 55 say that having access to computers and the web has improved their lives, Silver Surfers' Day is a great opportunity to encourage older people who aren't online to take that first step and get a taste of the many benefits it can bring to their lives.
“Digital participation across our communities, with the wealth of social and economic advantages it brings, is vital to the future wellbeing of the UK.”
